21 November 2022 · Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (Madrid)
This award —first created by the SGAE with annual frequency in 1987— has become one of the most important contests of its field for the rigor and prestige of performers and jury participating in it. The award was conceived with the aim of stimulating creation in the field of contemporary classic between young composers and contribute to social development through knowledge of new languages, trends and musical forms of expression.
On November 21, 2002, a concert was celebrated in the Auditory 400 of the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid with pieces from José Benjamín González Gomis, José Luis Valdivia Arias, Juan Antonio Serrano Luciano and Adrian Mokanu. Directed by Iker Sánchez Silva, BilbaoSinfonietta was the orchestra in charge of performing the sheets from the four finalist authors.
