PREMIRE BS: MIKEL CHAMIZO

In growth of BS, we believe a close coexistence with the new composers is necessary. Therefore, Bilbao Sinfonietta will premiere “Bariolage Sauvage” by the Basque composer Mikel Chamizo at the XI Contemporary Music Circuit “Musikagileak”.

Bariolage Sauvage, creation of Mikel Chamizo, flute, clarinet and cello. Taking as its starting point, baroque technique of bariolage, which consists of the alternation between two notes, one that remains fixed and the other that drives over it, constantly changing height. It is a technique whose execution is natural for string instruments (not so much for wind instruments) and which is very showy, although in this piece it is taken to extreme consequences.
