IKER SÁNCHEZ SILVA
As the Artistic Director of Bilbao Sinfonietta and Musical Director of the opera company Opus Lírica and Gasteizko Ganbara Orkestra, Iker Sanchez has conducted prestigious orchestras such as the Catalonia National and Barcelona City Orchestra, Bilbao, Basque National Orchestra, Principado de Asturias, Tenerife, Oporto Casa da Musica, Bayonne-Côte Basque, Concentus Alius Berlin, Oviedo Philharmonic, the Orchestra of the University of Humboldt in Berlin and the Montenegro Symphony Orchestra.
In the stage music field, he has conducted works such as Die Zauberflöte or Don Giovanni by W. A. Mozart, L’elisir D ́Amore by G. Donizetti, La ardilla astuta by N. Rota or El caserío by J. Guridi among others. In the coming season he will be conducting major works such as Mozart’s Cosí fan tutte or Charles Colin’s Maitena together with the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra, an opera which will be recorded for IBS Classical.
He has made a number of recordings with symphonic orchestras like those of Bilbao, Euskadi and Oporto, and together with instrumental ensembles such as Ensemble Residencias for the record company “Verso”, the Krater Ensemble and the Sigma Project.
